Seasons Greetings
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I hope everyone had a good one.
Christmas in Edinburgh was great although unfortunately not white. In fact, on Christmas Eve it was sunny and a mild 8 degrees or so.
The Aussies in the hostel organised a game of cricket in the lane on Christmas Day. I ventured onto the cobbled field wearing the appropriate attire for Xmas cricket - shorts and thongs. Bloody cold. The game was bonza and somewhat surreal. While I was keeping wickets I saw a rabbit run past the end of the lane carrying a gun. That is to say a guy in a rabbit suit with a toy gun. Everyone else was facing in the other direction so they didn't see this. I yelled, "a rabbit with a gun" and pointed. The fielders turned just in time to see a second armed rabbit in hot pursuit of the first. The Christmas streets of Edinburgh were empty apart from our international cricket squad and two warring bunnies. Awesome.
